{"id":318,"date":"2012-11-22T08:07:15","date_gmt":"2012-11-22T16:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staceetaft.com\/?p=318"},"modified":"2012-11-22T08:07:15","modified_gmt":"2012-11-22T16:07:15","slug":"a-day-of-thankfulness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staceetaft.net\/?p=318","title":{"rendered":"A Day of Thankfulness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanksgiving Day.<\/p>\n<p>A day for family, food, fun, and football {although not in our home}.<\/p>\n<p>A day to remember, appreciate, take inventory of blessings&#8230; a day to be thankful.<\/p>\n<p>A day to reach out to the lonely and those who have less.<\/p>\n<p>A day to share and love.<\/p>\n<p>A day to care and give.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Years ago I designed this layout of Abraham Lincoln&#8217;s Thanksgiving Day Proclamation.<\/p>\n<p>My dad had asked that I share it at our Thanksgiving table with the guests.<\/p>\n<p>So, of course, it had to &#8216;look good&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Now I look at it and chuckle at how far my design skills have come.<\/p>\n<p>But, despite that fact&#8230; I am sharing it with you today.<\/p>\n<p>So that you can read it around your Thanksgiving Day table.<\/p>\n<p>So that you can share it with family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>So that we can be reminded of where we came from, our heritage and our blessings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pin\/49539664622959042\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-329\" title=\"Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Day Proclamation\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/staceetaft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/webAbrahamLincoln_ThanksgivingProclamation-231x300.jpg\" width=\"231\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I realize that for\u00a0many it&#8217;s hard to be thankful given the tough times they&#8217;re walking through:<\/p>\n<p>loss of employment,<\/p>\n<p>family struggles,<\/p>\n<p>failling health,<\/p>\n<p>trying to make their dollar stretch,<\/p>\n<p>missing loved ones who are gone or far away.<\/p>\n<p>I just wanted you to know, I&#8217;m praying for you.<\/p>\n<p>I might not know you by name,<\/p>\n<p>I might not know what you&#8217;re going through&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>but the One I&#8217;m praying to does!<\/p>\n<p>He knows everything.<\/p>\n<p>The good, the bad, the struggles, the pain, the loss&#8230; all of it.<\/p>\n<p>And He loves you, and want to be there for you,\u00a0even when things feel hopeless.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I want to leave you with a list that our pastor gave us last Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>It was simply too good not to share.<\/p>\n<p>10 Things You Can\u2019t Do Well While Being Genuinely Thankful to God:<br id=\".reactRoot[1].[1][2][1]{comment10151493681304186_10151496533459186}..[1]..[1]..[0].[0][2]..[1]\" \/>1.
