I’m so excited to share Erin’s session with you!
\nSorry it’s been so long between blog posts…
\nit’s been crazy around here, good-crazy, but crazy nonetheless!<\/p>\n

When Erin\u2019s dad, Tom, approached me about wanting to give Erin a portrait session for her sixteenth birthday,
\nI was beyond thrilled!<\/p>\n

I admit it,
\nI even cried.<\/p>\n

Before you start thinking I\u2019m an emotional basket case
\nthat cries over every portrait session,
\nit is sooo much more than that!<\/p>\n

You see,
\nI\u2019ve known Erin since she was a baby.
\nIn fact, she has a place in my heart few others have.<\/p>\n

I was blessed to nanny for Erin {and later her brother also}
\nuntil she was nearly five when Mark and I began our own family.<\/p>\n

And now she\u2019s lovely young lady of sixteen!!!<\/p>\n

Sixteen!!! I\u2019m in total denial! Life just shouldn\u2019t race by so fast!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When a client is shy or quiet or very reserved,
\nit\u2019s such fun to be able to bring out their personality
\nthey aren\u2019t always confident to put forward.<\/p>\n

Erin is sweet and quiet.
\nAnd photographing her was such a treat.<\/p>\n

She was convinced she was awkward,
\nnervous and didn\u2019t know how or what to do\u2026
\nbut she totally ROCKED\u00a0her session!<\/p>\n

I mean look at her images\u2026
\nyou\u2019d like she was a seasoned model!!
\nYou are amazing, Erin!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In\u00a0her pre-consultation,
\nErin and I talked about her desire for natural settings,
\nfields especially, and how to incorporate her love for ballet into her session\u2026
\nso I went on a quest.<\/p>\n

I knew I had one field already secured,
\nas it belonged to friends of ours,
\nbut it didn\u2019t have flowers,
\nso the quest continued.<\/p>\n

I found a lush field of tall green \u201cweeds\u201d the owner called it
\n{although they were stunning white and yellow flowers in amidst the lush green}.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And then, while running an errand,
\nI found her field\u2026
\nKnowing Erin\u2019s favorite color was purple,
\nI was dreaming that maybe,
\njust maybe I could find a field of purple flowers.<\/p>\n

And I did!!!
\nEven better the owner was thrilled to have us shoot in it!<\/p>\n

When the day of Erin\u2019s session arrived,
\nwe weren\u2019t completely sure what the weather was doing,
\nbut we met at her home for my hair & make-up genius, AJ Lane, to work her magic.
\nWe watched the clouds closely hoping that it wouldn\u2019t choose to rain.\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Of course as we arrived at our first location,
\nit started to rain a little.
\nErin and I just looked at each other and laughed.<\/p>\n

Of course<\/em> it would start to rain NOW!
\nBut it was only light rain,
\nso we decided to forge ahead instead of waste time by sitting and waiting.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019m so glad we did!
\nThe rain didn\u2019t last long and the rest of the day was beautiful!
\nAnd it not only allowed us to get two totally different types of lighting
\n{we ended up in full, hot sunshine},
\nbut it also helped the field look more lush and green.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all about the experience.<\/p>\n

And although I work to create an experience that will bless my clients\u2026
\nultimately they end up blessing me!<\/p>\n

What a wonderful gift for a young lady to receive for her sixteenth birthday!<\/p>\n
