<\/p>\nI just completed the final day of the Tualatin Police Experience
\nand I\u2019m not sure I can adequately write down how much this experience impacted me.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve always loved our police department.
\nWe are beyond spoiled with the quality leadership
\nand officers that wear the Tualatin PD badge.<\/p>\n
There is so much good humor
\n(okay\u2026 and bad \u2018punny\u2019 humor \u2013 which I consider fabulous),
\nso much comradery, so much wit and so much good-natured ribbing;
\nIt\u2019s a LOT of fun to be around our police force.<\/p>\n
But that\u2019s only partly possibly because these men and women are professionals
\nexcelling beyond the typical requirements, going above and beyond the call of duty
\nand doing it because they care do deeply for their community,
\nthose in their community and any person that is in need.<\/p>\n
I cannot thank our Chief enough
\nfor taking time and resources out of the\u00a0Tualatin Police Department
\nin order for us average citizens to catch a small glimpse
\ninto the heart and soul of what makes the TPD so special.<\/p>\n
Chief Barker provides the kind of leadership
\nthat creates a level of expected respect, quality,
\ncaring and attention to detail that is evident
\nin the officers that are in his department.
\nHis humility, and the humility of his officers,
\nis so beautiful to see in this day and age\u2026
\nespecially when they are all so highly trained.<\/p>\n
The Tualatin Police Experience highlighted each of these things and more.<\/p>\n
Yes, we spent a good deal of time laughing and smiling,
\nbut when each officer presented his\/her presentation\/demonstration\u2026
\nit was evident how passionate they were about what they do
\nand the training to be ready to protect and serve their community.
\nIt was also evident just how exceptional they were in that area\u2026
\nalthough it took the Chief coming up and bragging on them
\nbecause they would never brag on themselves.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve heard many complaints and horror stories
\nabout officers around the country (founded or unfounded is not the point)\u2026
\nit is a huge credit to our PD that even with
\nall the bad guys they catch, tickets and citations that are written\u2026
\nthat they almost never get a complaint.
\nIn fact, some who have been ticketed or arrested
\nhave written letters thanking the officers
\nfor how respectful they were treated during and after the process.<\/p>\n
The news will never report on this sort of thing\u2026
\nthere\u2019s no sensationalism in it.
\nIt simply doesn\u2019t sell or boost ratings\u00a0to report it.
\n{And being as news these days is more about being a business
\nthan being accurate reporters of truth\u2026}
\nmany won\u2019t report or speak of departments run as efficiently,
\nhumbly and respectfully as the Tualatin Police Department.<\/p>\n
But I will.<\/p>\n
These men and women have my utmost respect\u2026![\"TPD-coin\"](\"http:\/\/staceetaft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/TPD-coin-300x140.jpg\")
\nand they have my heart, my prayers and my undying gratitude
\nfor all they do day in and day out to protect our community
\nand make it a safe, fun place to live.
\nTheir servants\u2019 hearts are so evident.<\/p>\n
